STEM Day Presented by First Bank of Alabama Returns for Fall Race Weekend at Talladega Superspeedway

East Central Alabama students set to participate in a full day of interactive learning stations

TALLADEGA, Ala. (Oct. 20, 2026) – Talladega Superspeedway announced today that STEM Day Presented by First Bank of Alabama will return for the upcoming fall race weekend at Talladega Superspeedway. East Central Alabama students are set to participate in a full day of interactive learning stations including the chance to talk with NASCAR drivers.

“STEM Day is an incredible opportunity to spark curiosity for our local Alabama students and give them a hands-on look at NASCAR,” said Josh Harris, Region President, Talladega Superspeedway and Darlington Raceway. “Partnering with First Bank of Alabama, STEM Day shows how science, technology, math and engineering power our sport. It’s a great opportunity to get students more interested in NASCAR and help develop potential career paths for them in the future.”

Over 400 5th-9th grade students will be in attendance for STEM Day from the following schools: Ivalee Elementary School, Rainbow Middle School, Gatson High School, Woodland High School, Sardis Middle School, and West End High School. First Bank of Alabama has sponsored STEM Day at the track since 2019 for both the spring and fall Talladega Superspeedway race weekends.

Students from the schools will participate in various learning stations including driver Q&A’s, NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series garage tours, Racing Electronics, a bus parade lap around the track, and more. The students will also get lunch provided to them by Papa Johns pizza and will leave with t-shirts and swag bags once the activities are completed. STEM Day gives these students an opportunity to learn more about NASCAR and explore career opportunities that exist within racing and the STEM world.

"Talladega Superspeedway and First Bank of Alabama have had a long partnership to give local students meaningful, hands-on STEM experiences over the years,” said Chad Jones, First Bank of Alabama President and CEO. “Seeing the excitement on students’ faces as they learn in an engaging environment is a powerful reminder that an early spark of curiosity can lead to a lifelong passion and, ultimately, a future career. We are grateful to the school systems, parents

and teachers who make this program possible, and we are proud to help students better understand both the opportunities within STEM and the tremendous impact of having this 2.66-mile economic engine right here in our backyard."
